happy birthday

Today is Molly's birthday. She's 2 (or 3 if you ask her).

I must admit that when I found out I was having another girl, I was depressed. I really wanted another boy. However, Molly is pretty fun. She's a firecracker and loud. Boy can that girl yell.

She currently has an obsession with babies. She would have 400 dolls if we let her. She is also fond of calling all children under the age of 6 "babies" and tries to take care of them. They ususally run away from her.

She's extremely shy around other people but at home she bosses everyone around. It's pretty cute actually (unless you are the one being bossed I suppose).

Ellie adores her and Grae likes playing with her as well. I'm glad that God decided to give her to us.

Happy Birthday Moll-o.

redo

We are currently redoing the front yard. I have never liked the fence and it was rotting. On Memorial Day weekend we took down the fence. Each of the girls loved grabbing a hammer and wacking off the fence posts.

We don't have the purple shutters anymore, thank goodness.

growing up...

Ellie had two loose teeth. I know, how can she be old enough for that. She'll be 6 next week but still...

We were at the grocery store last night when she showed me her tooth was about to fall out. I was a little alarmed and told her to shut her mouth and to not pull it out right there. Since our tradition is to let the newly toothless person pick out whichever ice cream they fancied, we made our way to that isle. She chose Chocolate Brownie. Good choice I think.

After we put the groceries away, I gave Ellie the thumbs up to yank out her tooth. She was a little squeamish so her Dad came to the rescue. There was much rejoicing. I'm not sure if the enthusiasm was for Ellie or the ice cream. Since I'm working out and low carbing I brushed my teeth before the ice cream was served so I wouldn't be tempted. Worked great!

In all her glory. Sorry for the blood.

In other news, Grae (aka Spiderman, aka Peter Parker, aka Ironman) made an astute observation the other day. He remarked to his sisters that he had better go potty now because "it is hard to climb walls holding your p3nis." Well said young man.

tired

I don't know how Grae slept through piano lessons but he did. He fell asleep on the couch which is right next to the piano. Oh yeah, we bought a used piano for $200. The girls are taking lessons once a week.

praying for the pollocks

We have known the Pollocks for a long time and adore the whole family, even those little ones we haven't met yet.

Bryan is battling cancer (well technically the whole family is) and we are praying for them. They are blogging their experience and struggles while putting their faith in our Lord. We love them and they are teaching us to be faithful in all things God gives us.

May God bless them.

horses

Ava had the amazing opportunity to go see the Lipizzanner Stallions in McMinville last night. Dave and Melba took their granddaughter Lizzie and invited Ava to go with them. Dave & Melba are like grandparents to my kids so it was extra special for her.

Anyway, Ava could hardly contain her excitement and paced all day. She didn't get home until 11:30 pm that night but still had a smile on her face. She LOVED it and I loved that she loved it. There was a lot of love going around ;)
