sigh...

We went for a walk today in the beautiful sunshine. Our favorite place to go is the track. The kids can climb on the bleachers and then we walk around the field and look at the chickens at the other end. Today there were many walkers (mostly of the older variety). I had just ushered all 6 kids to the other side of the track when an older man stopped me and said

"You must be babysitting."

I looked at him and said "Nope, they are all mine."

To which he replied, "You've got to be kidding. You look so young."

I know I should be flattered but I'm not, at least not yet. Give me 20 years. I'm happy with my 35 years and am proud I have had 6 kids in that time. Can I say I'm looking forward to wrinkles? Or maybe when I get them, I won't like them so much. Oh well, for now I guess I will just keep fielding these questions (which happens every time I'm with all the kids.)

redo: hallway

Did I ever show pictures of the hallway we repainted? It is a small hallway so I wanted to go big and fun. I still think I may do something on the top of the wall but that will have to wait until spring.

This view is the same as above. We took the door off. The frame is from Goodwill and I painted some scrap wood with chalkboard paint to put inside.

Now I want to find another room to paint stripes in.

uhhh.....

We were on a walk the other day and the little ones found some neat sticks that were hooked shaped. They proceeded to run and yell and pretend they were superheroes.

Ellie: "Super Hookers to the rescue!!"

Me: "What? Um...err...um...I don't think you should call yourselves that."

Ellie: "Why Mommy?"

Me: "Um...err..um.. Just don't. How about, I don't know."

I didn't know what to say and no one else could think of a suggestion. So I just had to quash any yelling of hookers and suggest "hooks" which Grae told me didn't sound good.

Oh boy.
